Emilie Begin
Position: Marketing Lead
Hometown: Dunn Loring, VA
Voice Part: Utility
Musical Experience: Emilie has almost always been in some sort of a music group since the age of nine. During adolescence, her extreme choral nerdiness shined as a member of her high school's madrigals group, Choralis, District Choir and All-State Choir. When she got to college, she decided to ditch the classical music after her Freshman year, and sang a cappella with the University of Mary Washington's One Note Stand (which she co-founded) and BellACappella. After a long hiatus of about a month after graduating college, she decided she still needed a cappella in her life and luckily found Capital Blend.
On Her iPod: Way too much music, haha! Right now, She & Him, Dum Dum Girls, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Tracy Chapman, Simon & Garfunkel, The Police, The Clash, LCD Soundsystem, The Black Keys, Fleetwood Mac, Talking Heads, Radiohead, Nick Drake, Van Halen, Steely Dan and Taylor Swift dominate her iPod. She also loves This American Life podcasts, and hopes Ira Glass would be the narrator in the hypothetical movie of her life (Morgan Freeman's voice would work as well).
Other Interests: When not singing or working, Emilie enjoys reading, writing, cooking, stalking Anthropologie's sales section, watching '80s teen flicks with her sister, going to the gym, collecting vinyl and vintage jewelry, and eating Pho and Sushi (both of which she's been addicted to since Kindergarten!).
Fun Fact: Emilie is half-French/half-French-Canadian, and as a result, speaks French fluently
