Brandi Rose
Position: Assistant Musical Director
Hometown: Culpeper, VA
Voice Part: Alto
Musical Experience: Brandi started off as a pianist, but later turned to singing and theater as it better suited her passion for making an idiot of herself in front of an audience. She was a vocal music education major at JMU, where she was one of the original members of the all-female a cappella group “Note-oriety”. Since college, Brandi's performance venues have mainly consisted of churches, prisons and karaoke bars.
On Her iPod: Adele, The Black Keys, Bon Iver, Debussy, Ella Fitzgerald, Feist, Fiona Apple, First Aid Kit, Fleet Foxes, Janelle Monae,
Kathleen Edwards, Madonna, Neko Case, Nelly McKay, Nirvana, Note-oriety :-), Rihanna, Regina Spektor, Rilo Kiley, Robyn, St. Vincent, Tori Amos, Tune-yards.
Other Interests: Snuggling and cavorting with her rat terrier, Annie; reading way too much for her own good; catching up on her Netflix queue; Zumba, where Brandi falsely imagines she is a sex goddess; arts and social justice, particularly prison arts programs (former thesis topic); potty humor; cheese; telling stories.
Fun Fact: The hedgehog is Brandi's spirit animal.
